The song was written by James about his mother, who was a Christian Scientologist.
Her beliefs dictated that her faith should heal her from cancer and she could
not recieve
any medical aid. She died, and the song is basically the God that failed
to heal his mother...
it says essentially "You promised to take care of her, where were you?"
Because of the subject matter, it is undoubtedly an emotional song for
James to sing. They've
only done it 64 times to date, and wasn't played between 1995 and 2004.
Before playing it live in 1994 & 1995 James would usually ask "We got a bit of fuckin
heaviness for ya, are
ya ready? Are ya fuckin sure?" or something similar
